Deer Fence
There are many different types of deer fencing available to purchase but only few can match the benefits offered with Benner’s Gardens deer fence. Traditionally, perimeter fences were made from electric or wire fence materials that were very unattractive and difficult to install & maintain. These types of deer fencing were not very humane or environmentally friendly since they could easily rust and wear down from the weather and thus cause harm to deer that tried to pass by deer getting stuck in the fence.

What is the best fencing to keep deer out?
Solid wood privacy fences are typically at least 6 feet tall and composed of solid wood boards attached tightly together. This option can be the most effective at preventing deer, as its durability and view-blocking features make it difficult for deer to see plants and breach the fence.
How high does a deer fence need to be?
8 feet high works well in wide open areas of grass + fields. 7 feet high works very well in wooded and landscaped areas. 5-6 feet high works well for garden enclosures of about 100-150 total feet and smaller enclosures. 5-6 feet high also works in areas with difficult terrain, steep hills and other unique situations.
Will a 7 foot fence keep deer out?
The inescapable conclusion: a 7-foot fence is sufficient to keep out panicked white-tailed deer nearly all the time. The fact that a few deer in these tests could leap a 6-foot 11-inch fence seems reason enough to build an 8-foot fence to protect a yard or garden.

How effective is deer fencing?
Adult deer in good condition can actually jump a 76 inch fence but generally do so only when chased. This height has been used by hundreds of gardeners with great success. Use wooden posts of at least 9 1/2 feet in length and at least 5 inches in diameter at the top for corners.
What color should deer fence be?
Suitable materials include high-tensile wire, woven wire “field fence,” and V-mesh wire fabrics, as well as relatively new materials such as flexible PVC vinyl-and-wire planks and vinyl-covered wire products.
